Gerardo Bonelli is 22 years old, since he was 15 he started working in digital marketing.

Tell us your story: where does Gerardo Bonelli start from?

I fell in love with the internet in 2010. I spent hours browsing online from one site to another. In particular, the articles on affiliation had already caught my attention. I had already understood that the internet was a powerful tool for making money.

So, I started trying my first online jobs. I created sites, blogs … Until in 2014 I understood that out there many companies needed this knowledge and skills. I was still in middle school, but I was already working in the afternoon.

At the same time, however, I continued to develop my projects, especially in the field of Digital Marketing.

Thinking about it now, surely one of my first mistakes was to give more importance to the customers’ business than to mine. At that time, however, making money with the Digital Marketing in Italy was very difficult.

To date, you have had failures. Can you tell us something?

I think a man’s experience is the sum of his mistakes and not his successes.

In general, I made many mistakes: choosing the wrong partners, not making the exit at the right time, wrong accountants, investing in one project rather than another, etc.

There is no lost money, only data collected.

Do you think that a guy, who starts today with Digital Marketing, could make it a profession in less than 1 year?

Absolutely yes! Digital marketing is a world that is evolving and its channels are also increasing over time. Digital market will come in all sectors. With the blockchain, then, the opportunities have more than increased.

What advice would Gerardo give to a boy who starts today?

Mainly believe it! It’s possible to do it. It will take time, but it is possible. Marketing is a cake we can all eat from. I always try to make those who deal with digital marketing or social media understand that the affiliate could be a parallel channel.

When I started, there was very little in Italy yet I did it. With a successful campaign, today it is possible to make 100k. Today’s tools allow you to do this.

What is the message you want to convey?

There is a whole world between the employee who has sunk for years in his bored permanent job and Mark Zuckerberg. Today, with digital technology, you have an advantage: you don’t need large sums to test an idea. When you do something online, you understand right away if it can be good business. The problem, however, is knowing how to make the right moves and then knowing how to give parameters, to understand when to eventually give up the blow and how much to expect as a profit from that specific company.
