5 Indian Stars From The 2016 Edition Who Won't Play In 2021 T20 World Cup

1) Ajinkya Rahane

Last year, he declared his retirement from international cricket. Therefore he would not be playing in the open competition.

Dhoni scored 1617 runs in 98 T20Is, averaging 37.6 and striking at 126.14. However, those numbers do not reflect his talent, and for some reason, he was never able to perform at his best in T20Is but still he was always on the fantasy cricket

teams. Despite this, he led India to victory in the T20I World Cup in 2007 and is the only captain to win all three major ICC championships.

3) Yuvraj Singh 

Yuvraj Singh, without a doubt one of India’s finest limited-overs players, has played an essential role in the country’s cricketing history. In recent years, he has played a crucial role in India’s victories in the T20I and ODI World Cups.

In 58 T20Is, he scored 1177 runs at an average of 28.02 and a strike rate of 136.38. Yuvraj also took 28 wickets at a 15.1 strike rate. After being released from the team in 2017, he declared his retirement in 2019. The 39-year-old is competing in the Road Safety World Series for India Legends and has been in excellent form.

5) Ashish Nehra

One could certainly say that Ashish Nehra is one of India’s most underappreciated bowlers of all time. He has 157 wickets in 120 appearances for India in the 50-overs format, making him the 11th best wicket-taker for the country.

His ability to swing the ball at a good velocity helped him survive for a long time, as he spent 18 years on the international stage. Nehra announced his retirement after playing his final game against New Zealand on November 1st, 2017. He took 34 wickets at a strike rate of 17.2 while conceding at 7.73 in 27 T20Is.

5) Harbhajan Singh

Harbhajan Singh is a cricketer from India. Singh will remain in people’s minds as one of India’s finest ODI & Test bowlers, and for a good reason: he has 686 wickets to his name. 

While his stock is at an all-time high in the purest version of the game, the same cannot be said for T20Is, especially following Virat Kohli’s recent comments about him.

He has 25 wickets at an average of 25.32 in 28 T20Is, surrendering fewer than seven runs per innings. In 2017, Harbhajan benched in favor of a more offensive lineup that included Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav. During the 2016 T20I World Cup, he took four wickets in five games, and his chances of making the squad appear to be minimal.
