Disinfecting made easy for the world’s Finest Barbers

In the UK, barbers have been back at work this week, after more than a hundred days away from the chair, they have at last been told they can re-open. But the UK government has issued new regulations and guidelines for the back to work barbers, which include wearing a visor, social distancing measures, and of course maintaining high levels of hygiene, cleanliness, and lots of sanitizing.

Barbers are spending more time than before reassuring clients that they are sterilizing their equipment, tools, and chairs, rails, handles, and salon seating regularly in order for it to be a safe and sterile place for the public to visit. After each service, barbers are investing in total sanitization practices before their next customer is due for their appointment.
Traditionally, Barbicide is one of the most well-known brands used by barbers as a disinfectant solution. It’s that blue solution in a plastic or glass jar usually on the barber’s worktop and it’s used for disinfecting grooming tools including combs, scissors, and clippers. Barbicide was originally invented in 1947 by a man named Maurice King and over the years has been marketed heavily around the US by his brother James. Over seventy years later, the market has become more competitive, and more advanced options have hit the trade.

We spoke to Stefan Michaels who runs FinestBarbers.com, the online wholesaler for the “world’s Finest Barbers”.
Stefan gave us some detail on barber disinfectants,

“Yes, Barbicide is a well known, old brand in the barbering industry, but we decided to go for a British label which is a lot more technologically advanced, using H2O2 and can be used across more of a broader spectrum. The brand we trade is called EndoSan and the company was originally founded over forty years ago in Manchester, UK.

EndoSan is the most powerful, highly effective multi-use disinfectant and virucide we could find. It’s highly effective at killing viruses like COVID-19, even in low concentrations. I’m getting lots of reports from barbers saying regular cleaning products are giving them headaches due to strong fumes, but EndoSan is colorless, odourless and tasteless.

EndoSan is super easy to apply, user-friendly, no need to rinse once sprayed and it’s also fully biodegradable. We explain to our barber partners that this can be safely used to disinfect pretty much anything.

We stock both a 1% solution (green bottle) which is a more general sanitizer which is also labeled suitable for disinfecting hands and skin, as well as a stronger 3% solution (red bottle) which is more ideal to disinfect things like brushes, scissors, combs, but can also be sprayed to disinfect surfaces, chairs, handrails, etc

In the fight against the virus, we decided to give free bottles of EndoSan with our Finest Barbers orders, as well as stocking it in multipacks at trade prices.

Proven more stable than the competition, EndoSan also has more approvals and we think its multipurpose uses make this the best, totally non-corrosive, pH neutral disinfectant we could find for our Finest Barbers. EndoSan is also popularly used across a wide range of other industries, but we wanted to bring this name to market for the hair and beauty wholesale industry.“
