Jonathan Woods transferred from Alabama A&M and was highly recruited out of high school with offers from the University of Alabama and Michigan he choose Alabama A&M being that’s where he was raised.

Jonathan Woods was a preseason All-American and Preseason FedEx Ground Doris Robinson, Athlete Of The Year Award, as ESPN had him as the top Wide recovers to watch. As only a sophomore Jonathan had NFL scouts placing him on their radar after two camps showcasing his skills.

Woods’s best season by far was his junior season at Alabama A&M. First-team All-America as a kick returner from the Football Writers Association of America and as an all-purpose player from CBSSports.com after leading SWAC and ranking No. 2 in the nation in all-purpose yards with 178.1 a contest … Played and started all 13 games for the Bulldogs, racking up an A&M record 2,315 all-purpose yards … Previous A&M record holder for all-purpose yards was Devin Davis, who had 2,120 yards in 2002 … The 2,315 all-purpose yards ranks as the second-highest total in SWAC history, trailing only the 2,396 yards … Averaged 20.1 yards every time he touched the football with 2,315 yards on 115 touches … Recorded four of the Top 10 all-purpose yards games in A&M history in 2019, including the third-highest total with 331 yards vs. UNA …Had 290 all-purpose yards (No. 3 in A&M history) vs. Mississippi Valley, 289 vs. Georgia and 272 (Tie No. 9) vs. Texas Southern … Caught at least one pass in all 13 games … Finished the season with 59 receptions for 1,152 yards and eight touchdowns … Added 160 yards on 18 punt returns and another 845 yards on 32 kickoff returns … Returned a missed field goal 100 yards for a touchdown in a win over UNA in week 2 … Teamed with Zabrian Moore to become the first set of receivers in school history to go over 1,000-yards in the same season in 2019 … Had nine games with five receptions or more which included career-high nine receptions for 179 yards and a pair of TDs in road win over Mississippi Valley … Set career-high with 204 receiving yards on six catches in the win over Miles College … The 204 receiving yards rank No. 3 in single-game A&M history … they Scored a total of four touchdowns (3 receiving, 1 return of missed field goal) in a win over UNA … Had five games of 100-yards receiving or more … Opened the season with 118 yards on five catches vs. Alabama State and followed that with 136 yards and three TDs on five receptions vs. UNA … Had 118 yards on six catches to go along with 175 kickoff return yards vs. TEXAS southern.
