The Basic Principles of Chakra Alignment, Explained

Chakra Alignment

Did you know your body’s energy centers include your heart, throat, and the crown of your head?

You’ve probably heard of chakras and their function in your body’s energy movement. Chakra alignment improves your posture through yoga, breathing techniques, or meditation. All three can help to balance or unblock these chakras.

Keeping your chakras open or understanding how to unblock chakras is essential to your overall health. Openness supports physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

Aligning your chakras is connected to a healthy lifestyle. Keep reading to learn more about the basic principles of chakra alignment.

Principles of Chakra Alignment

The word “chakra,” translates to “disk” or “wheel.” In Sanskrit, it denotes the energy centers in your body. These energy-spinning wheels or disks correspond to a particular group of nerve fibers and large organs.

Aligning your chakras requires openness or balance for optimal operation. If they become blocked, you might experience emotional or physical symptoms linked to a specific chakra. They extend from the base, or root, of your spine to the top of your skull.

There are seven main chakras, each located along your spine in a particular place.

Heart Chakra

Anahata is close to your heart in the middle of your chest. The heart chakra is about our capacity for love and compassion, which should come as no surprise.

Aligning your chakras can involve chakra crystals like rose quartz. For the heart, you should explore the rose quartz meaning and uses.

Root Chakra

At the base of your spine is the root chakra, or Muladhara. Your sense of stability and security stems from your root chakra. It gives you a base or foundation for life and makes you feel rooted and strong enough to face difficulties.

Sacral Chakra

Svadhisthana, the name for the sacral chakra, is situated immediately below the belly button. It is this chakra that controls your sexual and artistic energies. It also concerns how you deal with your own and other people’s emotions.

Sun-Plexus Chakra

The stomach region houses the solar plexus chakra, also called the Manipura. It gives you self-assurance, self-worth, and a sense of control over your life.

Voice chakra

Your throat houses the throat chakra or Vishuddha. This body chakra is related to our capacity for verbal communication.

Fourth eye chakra

Between your eyes is where the third eye chakra, or Ajna, resides. This chakra handles your powerful gut feeling. That’s because the third eye controls intuition. It is related to the imagination as well.

Crown Chakra

Your head’s crown chakra, also known as Sahasrara, is there. Your Sahasrara symbolizes your karmic ties to the universe, other people, and yourself. It also affects the purpose of your life.

Keep Your Chakras Aligned

Now that you know the principles of chakras, it’s time to work on your chakra alignment. Aligning your chakras and understanding the use of chakra crystals will improve your overall health.
