Everest Base

Overview

Everest Base Camp is one of the most serene places on earth. Surrounded by the tallest Himalayan peaks, you will be in absolute awe of nature in the Base Camp. You don’t have to be an expert mountaineer to experience the natural landscape of the Everest region.

Trekking to the base camp of the highest mountain in the world, Mt. Everest (8848m) is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Trekkers from all around the world flock over the region to complete this incredible adventure. This exciting trek offers you magnificent views of Mt. Everest (8848m), Lhotse (8,516m), Mt. Makalu (8,481m), Cho Oyu (8,188m), and other snow-capped mountains.

Moreover, there are various trekking routes to reach the Everest Base Camp (EBC). The classic trek route from Lukla to EBC can get quite crowded at peak seasons. You can’t avoid the crowd at the last stretch towards EBC but there are certain alternative remote trails in the beginning.

You can also take a helicopter ride that reduces the itinerary and the difficulty of the trek. Hence, various alternative routes will provide you a new perspective of the Everest region. But what are the various ways to reach EBC? You might wonder. Read on to know more about the 3 ways to reach Everest Base Camp and other relevant information in detail.

The 3 Ways to Reach Everest Base Camp

1. Luxury Trek

Everest Base Camp Luxury Trek is one of the best routes to the highest mountain base camp in the world. This luxurious trek is comfortable and takes you to the base camp of Mt. Everest (8848m) in a short time.

The trip will start with a scenic adventurous flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. The trek journey then starts from Lukla as you trek to Phakding before arriving at Namche Bazaar. We acclimatize at Namche Bazaar for a day then continue our trek from Namche to Tengboche (3,860m). There we can visit the famous Tengboche monastery and experience the spiritual atmosphere.

We then make our way from Tengboche to Dingboche which lies at an altitude of 4410m. We acclimatize for the second time at Dingboche. We then trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (4,940m) via Duglha (4,600 m). The trek then extends from Lobuche to Gorak Shep. We will hike to Base Camp (5,335 m) and return to Gorak Shep (5,164m).

After trekking from Gorak Shep to Kala Patthar (5,643 meters), we fly back to Lukla on an adventurous helicopter ride. The 30 min Helicopter return ride from Kala Patthar to Lukla is the highlight of the trek. Finally, we fly back from Lukla to Kathmandu via a mountain flight observing the aerial views of the Everest region for one last time.

The trails of this incredible trek pass through the fantastic landscapes. You will also get to observe the majestic views of the Himalayas including Mt. Everest (8,848 meters), Mt Lhotse (8,516 meters), Mt. Amadablam (6,856 meters), Mt. Nuptse (7,855 meters), and others.

Autumn (September to November) and Spring (March to May) are the ideal time for EBC Luxury Trek. You can also explore the rich and unique Sherpas culture and heritage. There are local Buddhist monasteries along the trail that provide an insight into the religion and lifestyle of the mountain people.

 Everest Base

You will stay at the 4-star deluxe accommodation of Yeti Mountain Home in Lukla, Phakding, and Namche. Besides that, you will also stay in cozy and comfortable teahouses and lodges en route to the Base Camp. This luxurious trek also includes full-body ayurvedic massages, fine dining, spa treatment, hot showers, Wi-Fi, and other facilities.

This spectacular trek is ideal for those trekkers who have a busy schedule or who do not want to trek for a long duration. Overall, this EBC luxury trek is an incredible adventure and one of the best ways to reach Everest Base Camp.

2. The Standard Route

The Standard EBC trek route is one of the most popular trekking routes in the world. Thousands of trekkers flock through the region to take this standard route to Everest Base Camp. After taking an adventurous flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, we start our trekking journey to Phakding (2800m).

After trekking for 3-4 hrs we arrive at Phakding. The following day we trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3438 m). We acclimatize at Namche Bazaar for the day. There are various acclimatization points in Namche Bazaar. We then trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3870 m).

From Tengboche, we trek to Dingboche (4360 m) and then from Dingboche to Lobuche (4940 m). The trail from Lobuche – Gorak Shep – EBC (5360 m) – Gorak Shep is quite challenging and takes around 7-8 hrs to complete. The trail then leads us from Gorak Shep to Kala Pathar (5555 m) from where we trek back to Pheriche.

We trek back to Namche Bazaar (3438 m) from Pheriche on a 6-7 hrs trek. We take the same trail that we took earlier and trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2800 m). Finally, we take an adventurous flight from Lukla – Kathmandu (1400 m) experiencing the scenic mountain vista. You can explore historical places in Kathmandu valley for a few hours.

3. From Gokyo valley

The trek route from Gokyo valley is another exciting way to reach Everest Base Camp. In this trek we take the route via Gokyo valley to arrive at the EBC. The route is similar to the standard route as we arrive at Lukla from an adventurous mountain flight.

We then trek from Lukla to Phakding (2,840 m). The trail then takes us from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,445 m). The trek then stops at Namche for acclimatization. The route diverges from the standard route as we trek from Namche to Dole (4,038 m). From Dole, we trek to the settlement of Machermo (4,470 m).

We will finally arrive at Gokyo (4,800 m) after 3-4 hrs trek from Machermo. Gokyo is our next acclimatization point. We then trek from Gokyo Ri to Thaknak (5,367 m). The trail then takes us from Thaknak to Dzongla (5,420 m) via Cho La Pass on a challenging 7-8 hrs trek.

We will then trek from Dzongla to Gorak Shep (5,170 m). From Gorak Shep, we trek to the famous EBC (5,335 m) and then return to Gorak Shep. The trek then turns towards Periche and then to Namche Bazaar. We then trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla from where we fly back to Kathmandu.

The Final Say

The Everest Base Camp trek is one of the most loved treks in the world. While the standard route is quite popular among trekkers, there are various alternative routes as well. You can also take the EBC luxury trek which reduces the trek itinerary and difficulty by a significant amount.

Safety note: you must be aware of high altitude sickness above the altitude of 3000m.

Moreover, the alternative route through the Gokyo valley is also quite exciting. The remote trails will take you away from the crowded atmosphere of the region. Proper packing and preparation is essential for this high altitude trek. Trekkers must carry basic hiking gears like hiking boots, hiking clothes, sleeping bags, and others during their trek.

We hope you learned everything you need to know about the 3 ways to reach Everest Base Camp. Hence, you can choose any one of these routes for your trekking adventure.

Discover the 3 most important benefits of traveling and how to enhance them on your next trip

Benefits of traveling

Have you ever felt that traveling is good for you? You pay attention to all the new things that are outside you, in the new places.

But … do you know what happens inside you?

There is also an internal journey.

I’ll explain it to you below.

So I’m not going to make you wait any longer. I am going to reveal to you, specifically how to travel, it will help you to be happier, especially if you are in a moment of change in your life. And specifically, I’m going to tell you about all the psychological, social, and professional benefits that you can enjoy when traveling find exclusive hotels and flight deals on travelocafe.com for more details.

Traveling can benefit you in one, or three ways

The benefits of traveling are not just personal, helping you feel better about yourself and enjoy yourself.

If not, they can also be social. Approaching people who completely change your life.

Or professionals, opening up new opportunities in your professional career. Either from ideas or people, you may meet on your trip.

You already know that we are in constant transformation until the last moment of our life. So often, our conventional routine may not be meeting all of our personal growth needs.

Our needs may be for dynamism in our routine, for improvements in our relationships, or to feel that we are contributing positively to the world.

Nobody likes to stagnate

And traveling offers you this opportunity to break with all the old mental schemes that you no longer want to carry on.

Nobody likes to have a hard time in a job that does not convince them, in a toxic relationship, or in an environment that does not inspire health.

For this reason…

Let’s start by discovering how traveling affects you personally, that you are the most important in the movie! Psychological benefits: how traveling will enrich you on a personal level.

Doing things differently within our routine can be complicated and even strange.

So the opportunity to do things differently opens up before you. To organize a new routine where you feel better and the tasks are more in line with you.

How will you know if your trip has transformed you and it was not something specific?

The main compass is located in the area of the solar plexus. That is, your own body will give you the signals as to whether you are acting right or wrong.

Specifically, if…

  • · Chest tightness has been reduced.
  • · You feel happier in your routine (even when you work).
  • · Others notice you more cheerful.
  • · You are more productive.

They are signs that the trip has not only involved a physical movement, but also a mental one.

Travel, move things inside you. Things that were perhaps very still and quiet in your routine. So it’s time to.

Take out your security and personal confidence

In your environment, you will not do things that you do not feel like or that scare you since you can choose more easily. Traveling, you will have no other choice.

The normal thing is that many situations, people, or laws, are going to force you to do what you do not like.

That’s good, right?

Because if it were not like that, you would never have put yourself to the test and you would be wasting a large part of your abilities. As always, they are much bigger than you could ever imagine.

They just need a good context to express themselves … Travel!

If you sometimes feel that it is difficult for you to identify your feelings, decide or give your opinion, here is a guide to eliminating insecurity with 10 wild tips. In it, you will learn to identify whether or not you are an insecure person and how to strengthen your confidence.

When traveling, as shy as you maybe, if you don’t speak, you don’t eat. Or you don’t sleep in a comfortable place. Or many other uncomfortable things that can happen to you when traveling.

So even though you may be afraid of ridicule when speaking in another language, meet new people. Or to do things without you having anything under control…

When traveling, you simply DO IT.

It is pure survival.

This activates a lot of abilities in you, like…

You improve your social relationships: you gain more facility to meet new people and connect with them. As well as to maintain quality relationships in the medium and long term.

Communicative: you learn to express yourself better. Know more clearly what to say and how. A fundamental tool to flow with others!

Creative: expanding your imagination, coming up with new ideas, solving problems ingeniously. Your creativity can help you solve a problem with your partner, earn more money, or have to eat for 3 days. Don’t underestimate it!

Spatial: to be much better anywhere without needing GPS. You don’t always have battery or coverage. Not to mention the distractions that one can have while traveling. So having a photographic memory and a good spatial ability can save your life.

Many, many more abilities are activated in you when you live fully awake. With all active senses.

However, these are some of the most important capacities that can help you travel, and that at the same time, you develop them on your trip.

Photo of Discover the 3 most important benefits of traveling and how to enhance them on your next trip 2/3 by hamzafazal43

Did you know that you had so many treasures stored within you?

You have the right to show yourself as you are! Do not reserve.

Expose yourself to discover the best of yourself.

Traveling breaks your rigid patterns and expectations you know that the only thing that makes us suffer is what we choose to think?

As simple as that.

When you are suffering, perhaps because of your past experiences you are giving a negative meaning to that which worries you.

But really … You can live differently!

And that is shown by India celebrating the death of a loved one, Africa’s way of organizing itself, or a different way of saying things in English.

In this blog, you can also find an example of this transformation of meanings that we give to certain things in life in 7 personal development lessons that I learned living in Brazil and that will help you find the way to the life you want.

I love these confirmations that you do live how you want. And not because “things are like that.” Do you also like this evidence that shows that we are free people who can decide how to live?

In short, traveling increases your mental flexibility. One of the best abilities for survival and happiness.

And there is more. Travel…

Reminds you that everything is constant change

Sometimes people live in cities as if days are the same as others.

As if nothing changed.

“An equal day,” say some. Or, “as always.”

How can a day be the same?! There is no scientific reasoning that understands this time (or life) stoppage.

In other words, don’t be the one who dies at 25.

If you feel that nothing changes in your life. You are probably not living consciously.

There are many things that we do not know, but one clear thing: transience is one of the universal laws. That is, everything is constant change!

This is ambiguous, but also one of the healthiest attitudes you can dress up in.

And since everything changes … Thank you!

You connect with the abundance

Outside the home, there are many wonderful things.

But also a lot of horrible things. Or at least different.

So, get out of your comfort zone to explore the world…

And in case you didn’t know, gratitude, along with compassion, are the two emotions that are most friends of happiness.

It is for this reason that Buddhist monks and lamas are the main representatives of these two emotions through the meditations, talks, courses, and books they teach.

Come on, it’s impossible to feel sad if you cultivate gratitude and compassion in your heart…

Social benefits: Traveling will benefit the way you interact with others

And speaking from the heart and understanding others better through compassion. We enter the field of social benefits that travel produces.

It does not matter if you travel alone or accompanied.

I think it is important that you always have an open attitude to meeting other people. And that if you travel with someone, do not use your relationship as a refuge so as not to face the shame, insecurity, or laziness that sometimes relating to people of another language can create.

What is important is that do not just make a trip, for fear of going alone or alone. In this case, it is interesting that you ask yourself: Why am I afraid of traveling alone?

Answering this question is going to mean getting to know you a little better. And above all, trust you more. Since I’m sure that any answer you give yourself has to do with the past, and none with the present moment.

In other words, it is time to get rid of what you have seen on the news, what you have heard from people afraid to travel and get out of your comfort zone. Even from some bad experience that you or a loved one may have had in the past.

It’s time to face it!

On the other hand, a very interesting social phenomenon when we travel is that.

When you travel you stop interacting on autopilot

We don’t just follow routines. If not, our relationships also take routines.

eye! Do you know how boring this can get?

They say that others are a reflection of ourselves. So it is very difficult for you to know certain aspects of yourself if you do not surround yourself with people who are very different from you.

So the next time you get mad at someone, remember that you are mad at yourself. This can also help you better understand your discomfort and the true (and only) reason you may have emotional distress or anxiety.

Since often when we get angry, we demand things of the other. What’s more, we hope that the other will do concrete things to calm us down and that we stop being upset.

Instead of thinking that it is us who hurts, and therefore, all change must begin with improving our attitude and actions.

Do not worry. Traveling you will meet many different people. Sometimes they are going to drive you crazy. And from others, you simply would never want to separate …

 You expand your social network

And beyond how each one is. Traveling develops in you a strange feeling of brotherhood.

And I’m not talking about sects, religions, or anything like that.

Probably because you know that you are more insecure, and may need help at any time. So that you too are ready to help others more.

Wonderful right?

Thus, it is impossible to feel alone.

It is also scientifically impossible. Since science already knows that in reality, molecularly, we are not separate from anything.

Rather, we would be like the agglomeration of particles. But agglomerations that do not stop being in contact with the rest of things in life.

So let us know that we are more united than you can imagine.

Professional Benefits: Why Not? Benefit from traveling in the workplace (even if you are not an employer)

You don’t have to take an exclusive business trip. Otherwise, while you’re having a good time, you can also …

Photo of Discover the 3 most important benefits of traveling and how to enhance them on your next trip 3/3 by hamzafazal43

Train yourself to differentiate yourself

Take advantage of the trip to learn about how your profession develops in other places.

You can do this by signing up for some kind of training. Or simply, surrounding yourself and seeking encounters with people from your guild.

Sometimes sharing with other people who also do the same as you is enough to learn what you needed to improve.

Make enriching collaborations

Even better … do you know you’re going on a trip?

Beforehand, do a small search for professionals with whom you would like to collaborate and make a proposal.

You won’t tell me it’s not a great idea.

Nor is it worth telling me that you are not an online entrepreneur. This is just an example. But I am convinced that whatever you do or are interested in, you can make collaborations and meetings as cool as this one.

Get inspired to make changes after your trip

If you have not been trained, nor have you collaborated with anyone, you will have learned something as well!

So don’t go back to your robotic routine.

Before going back to work. Stop, write down the new ideas and sensations that have arisen during the trip. So…

Prepare the benefits of your next trip

Personal benefits happen for the simple fact of traveling, but the same does not have to happen with social and professional benefits. So we can also search for them.

To do this, I recommend that you not only organize the places you are going to go. But also…

· People, groups, or entities that you would like to meet.

· Customs, parties, and activities.

· Projects where you can collaborate.

· Professional collaborations.

In this way, you will multiply the benefits of these incredible life experiences!

Sure there are things you’ve already done. And others that don’t.

And now it’s your turn

And… which ones would you like to experience on the next trip?

What psychological, social, or professional benefits have you already experienced on your travels?

Have you already felt the 3 types?

I wait for you below, I would love to listen to you and know what you think of all this that I have told you.

In this way, we enrich each other.

Do you realize? We haven’t started the journey yet, but just by talking about it, we are already helping and benefiting each other!

It has been a pleasure to accompany you here. We can say that in a way we have traveled a bit together… Now let’s continue with the adventure!

Here is a list of the top-rated attractions and landmarks to visit in Egypt and all of what you need to do is to check which among them are interesting to you and deserve your visit whenever you get the chance although if you ask for what we request places to visit in Egypt in winter, we will say that all of them are highly recommended to be visited because of their greatness and their rich history.

1. The Wonderful Giza Pyramids

What can be mentioned at the top of our list rather than the three captivating Pyramids in Giza Complex that were built more than 4500 years ago as tombs to three of the most interesting pharaohs in the past who were Khufu, Khafre, and Macquarie? the pyramid of Khufu is one of the most recognizable attractions all around the world and is, in fact, one of the Seven Wonders of the World so how can you come to Egypt and miss a visit to such a bewitching spot.

You will also find extra attractions in the complex that will make your day just like the fabulous sculpture of the mythical Sphinx and the amazing Valley temple where there are so many untold stories regarding mummification and the ancient Egyptians’ rituals.

2. The East & the West Banks of Luxor

Luxor is the most recommended destination for those who love adventure and seek to spend unforgettable tour packages to Egypt in the winter. Luxor was supposed to be the capital of Egypt since it was established in the location of Thebes, the old capital of Egypt and it has inside some of the most invaluable treasures of the ancients. The first spot you need to visit in Luxor is its east bank where there are two of the most memorable temples of Karnak & Luxor. Luxor is actually called the biggest open-air museum because of the amount of sightseeing on its land. Then, you can head to its west bank where there are extra fabulous attractions like the Valley of the Kings, Colossi of Memnon, the breathtaking Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, and some extra sites that belong to great kings and queens from the New Kingdom so you will enjoy a lot while being there.

3. The Amazing Part of Old Cairo

Just like how Giza is rich with the tiptop tourist sightseeing, Old Cairo is another terrific destination that has lots of incredible Islamic & Coptic attractions that amaze all types of tourists and allow them to explore a great part of culture and religion in Egypt. So you can join your tour guide first to head to the Egyptian Museum that contains a huge collection of the ancients’ treasures and antiques. You will love your adventure there especially if you entered the Mummy Room to check the mummy of king Ramses II and also if you got the chance to get inside the room where the treasures of the young pharaoh, Tutankhamun were kept including his golden mask.

Then, you will be able to enjoy a long walk around the hypnotic Islamic mosques & madrassas just like Mohamed Ali, El-Refai, Sultan Hassan, Amr Ibn El-As Mosques plus having the best opportunity to have a shopping tour but your shopping this time won’t be as what you enjoy every time as shopping in Khan El-Khalili is unique and spectacular since you will find there all of what you may need to buy from accessories, clothes, bags, antiques, and lots of other things were their price tags comes in different values, so get ready to enjoy the finest things while being in Egypt.

4. The Beautiful Nubian City “Aswan”

There are lots of beautiful places in Egypt and Aswan city is the most beautiful one of them as nature there is more beautiful than any nature painting you have ever seen and the houses of the Nubians are really gorgeous. You will be able to spend some time between the Nubians to know a lot about their culture and how they managed to keep their heritage up to date. You should head to Elephantine Island there and enjoy the beauty of all attractions around you. In addition to the beautiful nature all around, you will get impressed with the fabulous historical sightseeing you will find just like the High Dam, the great Unfinished Obelisk, the Spectacular Philae Temple, and don’t forget to ride a camel towards the St. Simeon monastery and have a tour around such a great ancient site.

Another attraction that you should definitely visit while being in Aswan is the hypnotic Abu Simbel Temple that is located only a few kilometers from Aswan and it is really special as it was built by the great pharaoh Ramses II and it was adorned with some colossal statues that are standing to guard the temple. The decorations and inscriptions over the two temples of Abu Simbel clarify a lot about the ancient history of Egypt, the first peace treaty ever been signed in the history of mankind, and also shows the amazing love story that was between the king and his wife, Nefertari.

5. Nile Cruise Excursion

After knowing the best sites to visit in Aswan and in Luxor, you should know that the best possible way to tour around them and enjoy the best possible sailing tours there is through booking a Nile Cruise adventure and the best thing regarding such tours is that you will have lots of options in front of you. For example, you can spend 3/4/7 nights’ accommodation on the board of a Nile cruise. You can start your adventure from either Aswan or Luxor.

There are hundreds of Nile cruises in Egypt that are divided into different categories and the most recommended of them is the 5* deluxe and the 5* High Luxury Nile cruises as they really care for their services and the type of accommodation they offer to their customers but anything less than this won’t be sufficient at all when it comes to furniture, food, and facilities on board.

6. The Fabulous Alexandria city

Just like what we have mentioned, Egypt is rich with breathtaking sites, some of them are historical and others are natural ones and when it comes to Alexandria city, you will find that it is a city that combines between both features in Egypt with is the coastal side that overlooks at the Mediterranean Sea and the other side that contains some of the most interesting landmarks including the fascinating Catacombs of Kom El-Shoqafa, Qaitbay Citadel, Pompey’s Pillar, and the bewitching Library that attracts people from around the universe.

7. The Beautiful White Desert

There, nature speaks out loud with the majestic shaped chalk mountains and the spectacular landscapes that look like something you see in science fiction. You will be able to overnight in the desert and enjoy unforgettable camping in the desert below the beautiful sky and while being surrounded by huge icy mountains. If you love nature and want to have the best overnight adventure, don’t miss a visit to such a terrific destination.

8. St. Catherine’s Monastery

You won’t believe the number of tourists who come all that long to have a visit to such an old monastery that is considered the oldest one to be built in the world and it stands close to Mount Sinai which is another hypnotic touristy site where Moses received the ten commandments of Allah and that is how that place got its religious reputation and importance. So take your steps towards repentance and head towards such a magical sight.
