Remote Access with Smart Home Gadgets

A smart home gadget is designed to make your life easier while you remain on the move or even while you’re at home. With the pace of technological advancements all over the world, who wouldn’t want smart gadgets at home? There are many examples, such as wireless doorbells with video, Smart Cameras, Smart Refrigerators – all of which can be accessed from our mobile phones, tablets, and some from our smartwatches as well.

Having access to your home through Smart devices has its own freedom and a feeling of safety whereby you know you have control of certain things in your household whether you’re in the house or away.

Here are some smart gadgets that would make life ten times easier than it was before because of their remote access feature.

1. Smart Doorbells

Smart doorbells featuring video are what you need as they provide a top to bottom view of who is at your doorstep, regardless of whether you are home or not. These devices have dedicated mobile apps that send alerts whenever someone is at your door, even without them ringing the bell. You can live stream the video feed on multiple gadgets in HD quality through its app as well. And to top that you can answer the door and talk to the person outside too.

A smart doorbell would be great for someone obsessed with online shopping. And why? This way you can see who delivered your package and the condition it was delivered in, in case you need proof of wanting to exchange any damaged goods – or know which sneaky kid from the neighborhood stole it.

2. Smart Cameras

Are you always worried about the house when you’re at work or out grocery shopping? Or you have family members that you need to keep a constant check on, such as the elderly? Or even a pet? Well, smart cameras have got you covered!

By syncing to the home Wi-Fi network, these cameras are accessible from your smartphones, PCs and tablets – that includes the live video stream in HD quality, and turning the camera left or right to view other areas of the room. These cameras also allow you to communicate through two-way voice audio so you can easily communicate from wherever you are with whoever is at the other end of the camera.

What’s even better is that these cameras feature motion detection, night vision and night light technologies, so that even when it’s dark, you can view a clear video feed.

3. Smart Door Locks

Smart door locks are wireless, keyless locks that are connected to your mobile devices via Bluetooth or the home Wi-Fi network. They provide a drastic contrast to the traditional lock and key systems and ensure that maximum security is reached. Smart locks can be unlocked via phone scanning or entering the code onto the Door Lock’s keypad – it really depends on the device models. To make it even better, Smart Door Locks are tamperproof and allow you the freedom to lock your door from wherever you are, or to unlock it for anybody without you having to manually do it.

We can now say goodbye to the days where we forgot our keys or forgot to lock our homes while leaving for work because now with the scanning of a code, we can lock/unlock our doors and check up on the lock status as well.

4. Smart Lights

Smart Lights are the environmentalist’s dream. They allow us to cut back on unnecessary energy consumption and only use it when it’s essential. Smart lights were previously more commonly used commercially like in schools, universities, hospitals or the mall. But they have made their way into the domestic market too recently. Smart lights connect to our smartphones like all other smart devices, via Wi-Fi or a central hub. This allows us to have remote access whether we’re at home or away.

On another note, Smart lights can be installed in our homes as a way of trying to reduce our electricity consumption and cut back on bills. Oftentimes, children forget to switch off the lights in the bathroom or we may even forget to do so on our way out. But by installing smart lights, we can try to rectify such issues. Smart lights for outdoors are also great for security considering they light up when detecting any movement.
