Meet Sam Verbisky: A Music Photographer Who Tours Over 30 Countries A Year

Sam Verbisky has worked with some of the biggest names in Dance music today. In 2018, he accompanied Throttle on his worldwide tours and released several music video projects on Spinnin’ Records. One of them being for King Arthur’s new single, “Rave In The ’90s.” Which featured a choreographed dance in a colorful warehouse. The video received over 250,000 views in the first day and was featured on Spinnin’ Records Massive Monday. He has also toured with Mesto and has photographed Skrillex, Don Diablo, 3lau, RL Grime, among others. At the beginning of 2019, Sam released a three-and-a-half-minute video titled “My Year 2018” which has been viewed thousands of times and his been shared across Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. “The last year has been such a wild ride and I’m super grateful for what I’ve been given. In 2018 I worked with 11 artists, shot 86 shows and traveled to 27 countries. I had the chance to meet so many incredible people this year, and with travel, I discovered places I never thought existed. Thank you to everyone that made 2018, a year to remember. I can’t wait to see what this new year holds.” via Sam Verbisky’s Youtube post.

Growing up, Sam always liked the idea of being creative. In middle school, he and his friends would often find themselves trying to do trick shots on the basketball court. Inspired by the Youtube sensations Dude Perfect, Sam began filming basketball trick shot clips with his Flip MinoHD camera. As time went on, they started to get better and some of the videos were featured on ESPN and Canada’s Got Talent.

Each year, there is a large music festival held in Ottawa, Canada called, “Ottawa Bluesfest.” The headliners for the festival range from A-list names such as: Red Hot Chili Peppers, 50 Cent, Pink, Kanye West and more. In May 2017, Sam sent a direct message (DM) to the official Instagram of Ottawa Bluesfest about potentially creating video content for the festival’s 2017 event. At that moment, he had not filmed a concert and his experience was limited. Luckily, the Bluesfest team took a chance on him to see what he could create. Sam was given the opportunity to film GRAMMY-winning record producer FLUME. “I discovered FLUME back in 2012 and was immediately blown away by his unique sound. His unconventional approach to music has taught me to be different from my work over the years. Filming one of my biggest inspirations in my hometown was a dream come true for me.” The festival organizers, FLUME and his team all enjoyed what he had created. This was the TURNING POINT in his career.

Latest Project: In November of 2019, Sam Verbisky photographed the artwork for the new hit song Don’t Worry on Spinnin’ Records. The song was created by talented Dutch producer Mesto and Grammy-nominated singer Aloe Blacc.
