Lipstick hacks you should know for any kind of look

Lipstick is one of the makeup products that you cannot do without, even when you’re running late for work or an event, you can look much more presentable by just putting lipstick on. But aside from just applying lipstick the same, old, and boring way, you can make your lips dramatic with just a few simple tricks. In this article, we’ve listed down some unique lipstick hacks that you can use for numerous occasions.

DIY lipstick palette

This hack is very useful, whether you’re traveling or about to have a long day and go to different events. If you can’t decide on what lipstick to choose, you can make your own lipstick palette with just a couple of things.

You will need:

  • A small medicine/pillbox
  • Leftover lipstick bullets

All you have to do is to scoop leftover lipstick(one shade per slot in the medicine box) and gently push the lipstick with clean fingers to flatten and even them out. It’s a compact and lightweight option if you don’t have enough space in your purse.

Fuller lips

Nowadays, having full and plump lips are getting popular. If you want to have fuller lips, you don’t need to have any type of injection fillers to get this look.

How to get fuller lips:

  • Moisturize your lips and do some light exfoliation by using lip balm.
  • Apply concealer(the same as your skin tone) as a primer to your lips. This will create an even base and will make your lipstick last longer.
  • Over-line only your cupid’s bow and the center of your bottom lips.
  • Fill your lips with your choice of lipstick like how you normally would.
  • Finish the look by applying lip gloss and a small dab of shimmer at the center of your upper and lower lips.

Sharp-edged lips

If you’ve seen models you see in magazines and advertisements, they usually have these perfect angles on the ends of their lips. This hack can help you get exactly that. All you have to do is just clean the edges of your lips by using a small amount of concealer on an angled brush, then line the outside of your lips. This will create an illusion of making your lips perfectly symmetrical.

Lipstick on teeth is not a good look

This simple trick will keep your lipstick off of your teeth. Make sure that the excess lipstick from the inside edges of your lips is removed by forming a small “O” shape with your lips, putting your index finger in your mouth, closing your mouth gently on your finger, and carefully pulling your finger out. The excess lipstick from the inner edges of your mouth will stick to your finger.

Removing long-wearing lipstick

Long-lasting lipstick is great when you have a long day ahead because you don’t need to retouch your lipstick. But on the other hand, it’s a little trickier to remove compared to ordinary lipstick. If you want a quick way of removing long-lasting lipsticks, do not use makeup removers and try applying lip balm, petroleum jelly, or any oil and massage it gently on your lips, then use a cotton pad or tissue to gently wipe off the lipstick and balm. If you have applied a darker shade of lipstick, you can simply repeat this process a few more times to remove any excess color.
