Tips for Helping Kids Adopt a Growth Mindset

growth mindset

Children can be taught by teachers to shift their Growth Mindset and see more ability not only in themselves but also in others. According to research made by, believing in the human capacity to change is linked to less depression, better health, and higher achievement. People are born with varied personalities. People are born either smart or not, kind or not, and don’t change all that much.

Tips for Helping Kids Adopt a Growth Mindset

The article will share some essential tips to help you understand how to support kids to adopt a growth mindset. You can read to the end and discover some new information.

How to explain social benefits

According to different studies, embracing positivity towards mind growth helps students overcome social challenges with ease.

A person focusing on positive growth can easily understand and share the feelings of another, especially when it is challenging. Therefore, it helps one tolerate different groups of people with the hope that they might change as time goes by.

Personalities can easily be incorporated, and circumstances can get better. The same can apply to group thinking. Cooperation among different groups of people can yield the desired results despite the diversity in their personalities and mindsets. The rule is to involve all the needed parties to get the best solution.

Better relationships.

A mindset that focuses on change affects the thinking level of a person. Some studies show that failure and anxiety are among the contributing factors to how a person thinks.

Three ways to teach a growth mindset

Most growth mindset studies major in brief reading and writing activities with participants learning and sharing it with others. Recreation of such experience will require several elements, as listed below.

Talk about bullying and social exclusion.

One needs to explore why bullies do so, who they are, and the victims as well. The views gathered will help in realizing neither the bullies nor the victims are to remain in that particular position.

Explore growth vs. fixed mindsets

Understanding what it means to hold a growth vs. a fixed mindset makes it easier for one to believe that people’s abilities and traits can make one optimistic and motivated about getting a solution to problems. The application of this concept can help figure out the bullying ideas and the formed opinions one has about themselves.

Reinforce learning through teaching

are you aware that teaching what one is learning enhances understanding? Get children in the same age bracket, teach them about the growth mindset and let them share the acquired knowledge with their siblings as well as their younger ones.

Obstacles to growth.

A growth mindset cannot be continuous – A growth mindset is not a personal attribute; hence one cannot determine whether they have it. It is just a way of thinking in a given situation.

growth mindset

Fixed mindset s experienced by all – People are a mix of both fixed and a growth mindset; hence one needs to know which one to apply based on the situation at hand like switching to growth mindset when anxious.

Beware of triggers – A fixed mindset results in negative emotions, like shame, which makes one defensive and insecure, making it hard to believe in change. Therefore, it hardens the accessibility of growth mindset, hence beware of one’s feelings to differentiate the two.

Believing others have the potential to change frees up oneself and others hence the need to cultivate a growth mindset. Growth, change, and adaptation are all characteristics of resilience, which helps one see social problems as challenges. One has to know whether to apply a fixed or growth mindset.

Kiko Dos Santos Used This 1,000-Rep Bodyweight Workout To Get Ripped For a Model Shoot 1

Kiko Dos Santos Used This 1,000-Rep Bodyweight Workout To Get Ripped For a Model Shoot

Kiko Dos Santos

The latest workout, straight out of the bodyweight playbook, is Kiko Dos Santos’s weights-free ‘Calisthetic’ session, which the Ex-Bodybuilder used to build a physique for a Model Photoshoot for FFM back in March 2015.

What’s more (and despite what many think), Kiko would often use a potent mix of bodyweight exercises to blast through fat and build lean, functional muscle to replicate what was needed for the Shoot.

Kiko explained to TheHearUp that a typical workout could include “20 alternating jump lunges in one place, 20 jump squats, 60 mountain climbers, power push-ups, followed by a run-up five flights of stairs, then one-leg squat hops using a TRX rope.”

Kiko would then rest for one minute and repeat the circuit twice more to accumulate over 1,000 reps once the workout had wrapped.

This pushed me to my ‘functional’ limits with a very multifaceted style: strength, explosiveness, fast-paced, calculated, diverse, and gut-wrenching workouts.

Ready to give Kiko Dos Santos’s bodyweight workout a go? We’ve pieced it together below, swapping the stair drills for single-unders with a jump rope. Work for three total rounds:

  • 20 alternating lunges (each leg)
  • 20 jump squats (or air squats)
  • 60 mountain climbers
  • 20 plyometric press-ups, clap-ups or standard press-ups
  • 20 single-leg squats (or 40 air squats)
  • 150 single-unders

Interview with Global Health Leader Avi Kerendian, Co-Founder, GGHTx

Avi Kerendian – Co-Founder of GGHTx:

Avi Kerendian is a cancer-researcher turned social entrepreneur focused on global health equity and healthcare change. As co-founder and program director of GGHTx, Avi Kerendian organizes public health mission trips throughout Latin America and Uganda that are beneficial to community-based organizations (CBOs) and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) working with poor and underserved patient populations. He is the co-founder of GGHTx, an acronym for “Gracias” Global Health Trips, a global health non-profit organization specializing in bringing together volunteers from medical and dental backgrounds to aid in intensive, week-long mission trips with the aim of fostering self-sufficiency. GGHTx is guided by a mission to support marginalized communities in an effort to foster self-sufficiency by building alliances with locals, fundraising, and developing initiatives that promote health education.

About GGHTx and Avi Kerendian:

GGHTx started as small service-oriented mission trips but found ways to scale and expand healthcare access for over 33,000 people in rural communities across Mexico, Guatemala, and Uganda. The nonprofit realized that basic medicines and healthcare treatments were not always easily available, but that local volunteer partnerships can help provide that. Thanks to GGHTx Co-Founders, Dr. Arash Hakhamian and Avi Kerendian, to date, some 5,000 patients, 70% of whom are women and children, in over 40 villages, are now more easily able to make appointments with doctors and dentists, receive free, necessary vitamins and medications, and overall, have access to health-education resources they otherwise would not have given the harrowing lack of funding in these underprivileged communities. Two of the current leading projects being organized by Avi Kerendian include:

GGHTx Partners ASSADE & Zidan Benevolence International:

  1. ASSADE: A GGHTx + Latin America Partnership, with Latin American Executive Director Julio Chàvez. Together, GGHTx employs a full-time doctor and nurse, in addition to other health and support staff, and treats on average 30-45 patients per day – seventy percent of whom are women and children. In addition to caring for acute conditions, the staff increasingly focuses on preventive medicine to better avoid certain tragic outcomes that affect the indigenous population there.

  1. The Stigma Project: A GGHTx + Zidan Benevolence International Partnership, with Executive Director Kiyini Jimedine. Together, GGHTx helps eliminate HIV/AIDS stigma and vamp up the fight against pediatric HIV/AIDS through disease awareness, disease prevention, professional community and adolescent education, while improving healthcare access and treatment services for underserved and vulnerable populations throughout central Uganda. This is an insightful interview with a leading public health nonprofit and global health leader.

Co-Founder, Avi Kerendian (GGHTx) Partners with Dr. Arash Hakhamian,

Co-Founder, Avi Kerendian (GGHTx) Partners with Dr. Arash Hakhamian, Dentulu to Help Progress Telehealth and Global Health Reform amidst Coronavirus Pandemic

Born from the creative minds of Medical Director, Dr. Arash Hakhamian at Dentulu and, Co-Founder, Program-Director Avi Kerendian of GGHTx, the telehealth community is excited by the prospect of a new partnership that will bring underserved communities much healthcare reform. GGHTx is an active public health nonprofit organization that aims at improving the healthcare of less privileged communities, through free medical and dental mission trips funded by volunteers themselves.

GGHTx and Dentulu Global Telehealth Partnership

As GGHTx has an end goal of providing self-sufficiency to said communities, GGHTx and Dentulu will join forces in the next few months to help create a positive impact on communities in Latin America and Uganda through free telehealth access for all. They will achieve their goal by helping these communities’ access health and dental care, at the highest medical and legal standards, through the proprietary, free telehealth platform access that will be available for all, along with their free mission trip visits with medical and dental volunteers.

The importance of telepath is especially useful at this time given the current Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Telehealth is the use of electronic information and communication technologies, such as mobile phones and computers to provide access to health care services from remote locations that will also provide for patients’ healthcare needs. These are digital ways for patients and doctors to use this service from the comfort of their own home to make health care services more efficient, easily-accessible, and cheaper for all involved.

Dental and GGHTx will now help people who live in remote or isolated communities to easily access these health care resources, that are readily available for underserved patients with limited movement capabilities, lack of transportation, and little money for doctor/dentist visits. The provision of support for self-management of health care and improved communication and coordination of care between a patient and health care team members will now facilitate and transform access to medical specialists for those underserved communities.

About GGHTx

GGHTx is a global health nonprofit organization with a mission to reach out to extremely underprivileged communities, in partnership with community-based organizations (CBO’s), to offer and support supplementary health care services. Poverty-health eradication is a monumental task, but under the able leadership of the Medical Director, Dr. Arash Hakhamian, and Program Director, Avi Kerendian, GGHTx is committed to reaching out to creating a change in those areas that totally lack or have few medical facilities. GGHTx — for the past three years — has visited remote, inaccessible, and poverty-ridden areas like Guatemala, Mexico, and Uganda.

Avi Kerendian, the Program Director and Co-Founder of GGHTx, together with volunteer doctors, dentists, and support staff have left a positive impact on the lives of these communities. To date, their services have provided medical and dental relief to thousands of patients, 70% of whom are young women and children.

From the sponsored Vitafusion Health Campaign in Latin American to the GGHTx + Zidan Benevolence International – The Stigma Project in Uganda, these directors have shown love and care to communities by not only providing vital health care services but, at the same time, by also creating a fun, public health education program for kids in these locations. Likewise, they’re still determined to hold the mantle high by continuing with their mission trips to reach other neglected communities, by continuing to provide basic health care, improved sanitary conditions, and access to trained, US-licensed doctors and dentists.

About Dentulu

Dentulu is the pioneer Dental Mobile App in telemedicine service for dental professions and patients. Dentulu offers an array of services that includes virtual dental care and other dental related issues. How does Dentulu work for patients? Patients can make good use of Dentulu’s virtual dental software that connects dentists and patients from the comfort of their homes anywhere around the globe. The app is easy to use, HIPAA compliant and can be downloaded from Google Play store or the Apple App Store.

GGHTx’s guiding motto is simple:

“Helping one person might not change the world but it could change the world for one person.”
