Final Fantasy VII's Release Delay Also Means It Will Remain A PlayStation 4 Exclusive For A Longer Period

Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy VII’s Release Delay Also Means It Will Remain A PlayStation 4 Exclusive For A Longer Period. The temporary exclusivity will last one year and, once finished, the game can be published on other platforms such as Xbox One or PC. It was already known that this remake would be exclusive to the Sony console, but it had not yet been confirmed for how long.

The announcement arrives next to the publication of the new cover of the game, in which a label with the text “PlayStation Exclusive ” appears. The period of temporary exclusivity will end in March 2021, while the new generation of consoles will be launched at the end of 2020. This means that Square Enix could skip the version of the game for Xbox One and directly publish that of Scarlett.

Final Fantasy VII Remake was presented for the first time at the Sony conference at E3 2015. Since then, Square Enix has published several trailers showing the impressive technical section of the game and how it has changed from the 1977 original.

Starting March 3, 2020, PlayStation 4 users can play the expected Final Fantasy VII Remake
