Nepal

Forget walking the backyard and nearby garden when there’s an entire Himalaya to traverse and explore the spectacular views. The region is too big with too many options for you to scout and enjoy the wilderness.

Any trek, long or short that please you are provided by Nepal all year round. The trail can be maneuvered whenever you feel like with the same vivacious spirit and rejoice an astounding view. However, I’d recommend not to plan the trek in monsoon and winter. The weather is slightly harsh these months and trails too slippery to navigate.

Each trek here allows the visitor to fully experience nature and breathtaking landscapes while strolling the alley. The luscious forest filled with pine, birch, and rhododendron hails every traveler passing by with a fresh wind.

Sounds of sweet twitter from birds and wind blowing through the trees are heard clear and distinct in the woods. But as you walk above the flat ground, the calming creak disappears behind the rock and the strong howling wind turns up.

The trail in Himalaya offers spectacular views of snow-covered mountains, breathtaking landforms, and colorful valleys. You’ll get to witness the fall foliage and blooming rhododendron throughout the forest only if you travel the region in autumn and spring.

The cascading waterfalls and silent lakes are some other major attractions of the exotic Himalayan trekking destination in Nepal. So if you don’t wanna miss all of it, pick any hiking spot itemized below.

Nepal is home to the Himalayas so it’s only natural for it to have so many far off destinations worth trekking. The day will fall into the night if we start listing all trekking sports. So instead of doing that, we have listed the best exotic Himalayan trekking in Nepal that stands out both in accessibility and view.

1. Everest Base Camp Trek

Maximum Altitude: 5,364 meters

Trek Duration: 8-12 days

No trek in Nepal is as fabulous as Everest Base Camp following the world’s highest mountain, crystalline lakes, and unique landscapes. The hike is an utter beauty with so much history, rich culture, and natural charm preceding from Lukla.

Everest Base Camp trail has 80 miles length, passing through old villages, grassy meadows, and rhododendron forests. Take a walk through woods or over rocks and you’ll get to witness a wide species of wild animals and birds.

The remote settlements of Sherpa along the way are a bit messy but cool to spend a day or two in the company of amicable locals. The route dotted with mani walls and Chorten carries religious significance and myths.

The ancient Tibetan monastery in Tengboche has a prime interest in visitors. The host organizes the tour of the monastery every evening for a hundred trekkers in the evening. Ama Dablam along with Mt. Everest is visible from the village but to get a close picture, you have to reach up to 5,364 meters.

2. Annapurna Circuit Trek

Maximum Altitude: 5,416 meters

Trek Duration: 16-20 days

Annapurna Circuit Trek has such a glorious view of Annapurna massif and Dhaulagiri that one can spend his entire life here. The trek is relatively frantic with back to back steppes and slopes but still worth visiting provided a stunning view.

At 17,769 ft high, Annapurna Circuit rises above the hills and stone stairs to reach the highest point. It walks the rugged trail above the ridge and over the Marsyangdi river before arriving at glaciated terrain to meet Thorung La pass.

Villages on the trail are marvelous with typical Nepalese houses of double sloping roofs. They can be anywhere from two to four-storeyed. As a part of the Annapurna sanctuary, the trail offers a glimpse of varied wild animals and birds. You also get to sight mountains like the Annapurna range, Pisang Peak, and Manaslu from foothills.

3. Makalu Base Camp Trek

Maximum Altitude: 5,250 meters

Trek Duration: 16-19 days

Trek to Makalu Base Camp is an adventure of a lifetime and a great opportunity to unfold lots of hidden beauty. It spills over an astonishing view of scintillating mountains, roaring rivers, and waterfalls. It’s full-on

Like every trek in the mountain, Makalu Base Camp also walks on a craggy path filled with rocks and dust. Rising high up to 17,224 ft., the trek is quite exhausting but marginally less as compared to other hikes above 6000 meters altitude.

The trek starts-off easy with a gentle climb up the mountainside and a terrace farm before picking the heights. Traversing through the rhododendron forests is still okay but thereafter the route inclines upward which sewers all the energy.

In the middle of all this, if anything comforts and heals the fatigue then it’s the magnetic scenery of Makalu Himal. On a clear sunny day, you’ll get to peek at the pristine Kangshung and Chamlang.

Makalu Base Camp is located on the southeast of Mt. Everest in the Mahalangur Himalayas. It is about 500 km far from Kathmandu and thus trekkers have to fly up to Tumlingtar, then start walking the trail.

4. Upper Mustang Trek

Maximum Altitude: 3,810 meters

Trek Duration: 9-15 days

The most epic mountainous trek, Upper Mustang is a land straight from heaven. Unlike most treks, it’s not savage, neither steepest with a rather flat walk on deserted lanes. The dry route unfolds high cliffs, ravine, and colorful mud walls that glow in the sun.

Upper Mustang Trek commences from Jomsom on a parched stony trail across the gorge and prayer flags. The soaring rock face and arid fields seem unachievable but in truth, it’s easily doable unless you’re not well-prepared.

Standing at 3,840 meters, Lo Manthang is the previous capital of Upper Mustang. It’s by all prospects, an astounding walled city with a well-carved pilgrimage and monasteries built centuries ago.

The view from the ridge is like nothing you’ve ever seen, the sheer red cliffs, deep canyons, and gorgeous Thakali villages. Upper Mustang is home to people of different ethnicities so it’s common to notice diverse cultures and languages.

The decorative art and manuscripts recently found in a dozen of caves have been proved to be influenced by the Newari culture. This explains what level of unity was amongst the people even back in the time.
