A Guide to The Burning Crusade’s Mounts in WoW Classic

World of Warcraft Classic has been slow on the uptake as of yet. With the Shadowlands expansion going underway in Vanilla WoW, there has been a slight decrease of players on the Classic servers. This is mostly due to the game not receiving any note-worthy updates as of late. Some players have even gone so far as to say that WoW Classic is dying even if those claims are far from the truth. Thanks to the Burning Crusade, however, players have starting to trickle back into the game to delve into the all-new expansion for Classic. Not only are there more ways now to earn WoW Classic gold, but a plethora of items that were not available otherwise are now part of the game. This includes new weapons, consumables, and different varieties of WoW Classic bags that players can use to store different types of items such as ammo. One of the things that Blizzard has put a focus on in the Burning Crusade is without a doubt the mounts. About 17 mounts are now added to the selection for players to choose from, each of them excelling in certain situations. Players can take their pick from the Epic mounts that are suited for either PvP or PvE battles, depending on which they prioritize. Let’s get to know more about these mounts, shall we?

The Addition of Flying Mounts

Flying Mounts have been heavily requested by the players to be added into World of Warcraft Classic and to everyone’s surprise, Blizzard listened. Flying Mounts has now been brought over! Many people have taken for granted this feature nowadays thanks to it being accessible in Vanilla WoW, but in a game like Classic where a lot of the changes and updates from that game is nowhere to be found, players take whatever they can get when it comes to quality-of-life changes. To be able to obtain the Flying Mount skill, players must visit their respective trainers accordingly. These places are the Hellfire Peninsula and/or Shadowmoon Valley. For those that are of the Horde, they will have to talk to Dama Wildmane. For players that are part of the Alliance, on the other hand, must contact Brunn Flamebeard. Now here comes the hard part: players must spend their hard-earned WoW Classic gold to be able to unlock the other skills such as riding skill. If they want to be able to unlock Expert Riding which gives them a 60% increase in epic flying speed, then they will have to cough up 800 gold. Not a bad price considering that this is the lowest tier. There’s also Artisan Riding which significantly boosts a player’s flying speed to 280%, but that would cost them 5,000 gold to unlock. Players can also unlock the highest tier which gives them 310% flying speed, but they’ll have to have either the Gladiator Mount or Ashes of A’lar first, both of which are difficult to acquire.

Race-Exclusive Mounts

Thanks to The Burning Crusade, players get to see two new races surface–namely, the Draenei and the Blood Elves. Every race has certain mounts that are only available to them, so players that have Blood Elf or Draenei characters can expect that they get to have a unique mount for their race. For the Blood Elves, they’ll get to have the Hawkstrider mounts which are available in many different variants. Meanwhile, the Draenei race gets to have exclusivity over the Elekks, which from a visual standpoint, looks like a hybrid of an elephant and a mammoth due to having immensely large tusks and even horns.

Whether one is from the Alliance of the Horde, they get to have some mounts that are only available to them as well! Vendor Mounts are typically one of the first mounts that players will own during their playthrough since they’re the easiest to get. For the Horde players, they’ll be able to get Windrider mounts. For the Alliance players, they’ll have the Gryphons instead. Both types of mounts are available for purchase at 100 gold (for the Rare type) and 200 Gold (for the Epic type).

In Conclusion

The wide array of mounts for The Burning Crusade can be intimidating at first for those who are looking to purchase their mount for the first time but rest assured that whichever mount that they manage to pick, all of them are great choices. Most mounts are differentiated on whether a player is from the Alliance of the Horde, so they don’t have to worry about which ones to get for the most part, mainly because the game is going to make that decision for them. Just be sure to have enough WoW Classic gold stored up inside WoW Classic bags though, because learning the even ride Flying Mounts take up a lot of in-game money. What do you think about the mounts that were added in solely for The Burning Crusade? Share your thoughts about this topic down below.
