EST 1966, the football shoe brand Stylo Matchmakers was born at a shoe factory in Northampton, UK. Stylo has now relaunched to jumpstart the boot market, giving players and coaches more options and opportunities to represent themselves as an alternative thinker.

It all started when the Stylo Matchmakers name took over the pyramid of English football in the early 1970s, after shoe-staring players including Pele and George Best helped build the brand name in the late 1960s.

As this introductory brand became more dominant, entire teams and their managers, including Leeds United, Liverpool FC, AFC Sunderland, Celtic FC, Fulham FC and Nottingham Forest started wearing Stylo Matchmakers shoes. Many of these clubs either won a competition or reached the finals while wearing their creators.

Don Rivi was the first manager to sign a contract with Leeds United with club captain Bobby Collins, as Stylo Matchmakers were local owners and top Leeds United fans.

Clough had a short period of running Leeds after leaving Riffy, and admired the quality of the shoes, so he took Stylo’s contact with him to his next job at Nottingham Forest.

It wasn’t long before other directors wanted to co-sponsor famous Stylo Matchmakers including other legendary directors Jock Stein in Celtic, Bill Shankly and Bob Paisley in Liverpool.

Among most football fans, it can be said that Clough was the most successful, and he is certainly the most outspoken English manager of his generation. He was also very smart in intelligence and one of the most respected football managers of his time.

It has been more than 50 years since Stylo Matchmakers first launched. Today, the brand is back in the business of making soccer shoes that challenge the major brands of companies in areas they have failed to represent.

Stylo Matchmakers have already dominated the soccer shoe market before, would you be part of helping them do that again?
