Interview with Toronto based Forex trader, Samantha Anania
It’s a pleasure speaking with you today. Why don’t you tell us about your business and how you got it started?
Thank you, it is a pleasure speaking with you as well! Well, it all started five years ago. I was a bartender at a restaurant working 16-hour shifts every day for a few years. I had met someone who introduced me to the forex market, I instantly knew this was it for me! So, I put my two weeks notice in at the pub and started studying the market. The rest is history. After being a full-time trader for four years I had decided to create my own course to teach others how to trade the forex market. I named it Currencies Over Coffee, two of my favourite things on earth. This has been something I had always envisioned for myself and truly believe my purpose is to inspire others to live their truest self. I want to help better as many lives as I can while I’m here.
I’m sure success has not come to you quite easily, what challenges have you been faced with along your journey, that landed you here today?
That’s absolutely correct! It was a crazy ride but I wouldn’t change it for the world because I wouldn’t be who I am today. I’ve been broke to the point I couldn’t buy food, I would cry for days on end, I had no self-worth at one point which stemmed from toxic relationships, I lost my grandmother who was my biggest supporter from a long battle of cancer and I was battling my mental health for years. I ended up in the hospital for 6 weeks and the day I was discharged was the day I knew I needed to get myself together. I always knew there was a light in me that drove me to work harder, not just In my business but in my personal life as well. I knew I was meant for so much more than what I was accepting. I also knew that I never wanted anyone to go through the pain I went through over the years and that’s where everything stemmed from. It drove that force in me to push harder and never give up no matter how many times I fall. I’ve realized over the years that the most valuable gift you have to offer is being authentically you.
Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you before working with your competitor?
I am a Forex day trader. So I trade currencies and commodities but I specialize in XAUUSD (Gold) that’s my baby! I’ve worked so hard to better my relationship with trading. I know that shows through my daily analysis, my course and the way I interact with others. I don’t leave anyone behind, I will always be there to guide and I think that’s a trait that individuals appreciate.
What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find the same success that you have in their life?
The best advice I can give someone: don’t wish to be someone else because you will regret it in the future. We have our own unique potential it’s just a matter of knowing your worth. Remember “WHY” you started something because once you do, you will go far in whatever it is you embark on. Appreciate what you have in your current state and continue to stay consistent even on the days where it feels like you can’t. I promise before you know it, life will change for the better. What was once hard gets easier. What seemed impossible, conquered.
Speaking of success, tell us, what does success look like to you?
True success to me is not a luxury lifestyle but about how I can impact people. I want to leave this world and be remembered as someone who contributed toward good. Success it to be able to truly live life from the inside out, not the other way around and that’s something a lot of people don’t understand. Life is precious and once we are gone we don’t get a do-over so live the life you deserve.
What’s next for you and your business?
Once covid is under control, I want to be able to have “meet ups” with my students around the world. I want to get to know them on a personal level and celebrate their successes. I also plan on moving to Miami. That has been part of the plan for about a year now!
