6 Ways to Invest in Yourself in 2020

What does 2020 have in store for you?

Regardless of your big plans, it’s important to invest in yourself to make whatever you’re doing more enjoyable and meaningful.

Put your mind and body first and the first of your goals and visions will follow. So here are a few simple things you can do to set up the conditions for a successful year:

Start meditating (or do it more consistently)

If you are looking for options for mental peace, there is no better option than meditation. Take a short break from your hectic schedule and spend a little time tuning listening to your breath or your inner thoughts.

Studies show that meditation increases your immune system, and that’s just the beginning. Studies also prove that meditation has positive results on your mental performance by increasing your concentration, happiness, and self-awareness whereas cutting stress, anxiety and negative thoughts from your mind. Find the meditation guidance that works for you, and enjoy your practice!

Eat foods that provide you energy

Every New Year Resolution list would be incomplete without “to be in perfect shape” goal. But if you focus on eating foods that give you energy, your weight will take care of itself. Don’t just switch to an extreme calorie-strict diet and get tired of it instantly. Forget about calories.

Consume more water-based, whole foods like organic fruits and vegetables. Eat more raw and sprouted nuts like almonds and walnuts and seeds like sunflower and pumpkin seeds. Also, be sure to consume enough of the right fats like coconut oil and olive oil to help proper brain function. Notice how you feel after you eat. If you’re sluggish, whatever you eat isn’t serving you in the long run.

Get a more comfortable mattress

The quality of your sleep dictates so many of how you process your emotions and your general outlook on life. No one can deny the importance of sound sleep; it provides resilience again daily stress. How’s the mattress you’re sleeping on? If you’re not comfortable at night because your mattress is too soft or too hard, or because it’s retaining too much heat, your sleep will suffer the consequences.  To find the most comfortable mattress you can and get a rejuvenating night’s rest.

Try five-minute planks every day

A slim fit body requires an exhausting workout and if you are not ready for that, you can start with this easy technique. It won’t take much of your time either. All you need to do is to spare 5 minutes at the start or end of the day and practice the planks regularly. They actually use your own body weight to strengthen up your core and help you suck in the hanging belly.  Here’s a quick 1-minute video on how to do it.

Practice Yoga

This ancient Indian practice helps to create harmony among mind and body offering weight reduction, improved energy, and muscle strength. This is also a great exercise to boost up your sexual life-affecting arousal, desire, and satisfaction. You can find plenty of starter videos on Youtube, or you can find classes in your local town or city.

Discover a new hobby or embrace an existing one

The answer to this question opens up a bunch of new hobbies and interests that can bring you greater personal meaning. So, invest your time on what inspires you and consequently, you will discover your hidden talents.
